Free day on the volcanic island of Santorini known for the unique sunset. In its capital called Fira, attached to the cliff and accessible by cable car or donkey, you can admire the whitewashed houses, the alleys, the outdoor cafes and the famous sunset. Santorini is a spectacular stopover for dozens of tourist vacation cruises and hundreds of sailboats that land in its small coves, at the foot of its steep slopes, in the middle of the natural anchorage formed by the sunken caldera of the ancient volcano. The multitude of visitors from all over the world has developed a free and international atmosphere.
Due to its volcanic soil the island is very fertile. For that reason, the quality of Santorini's agricultural products is well known throughout the world. One of the specialties of the island is wine. The vines are arranged in a way that can only be seen in Santorini, their branches are placed in a way that makes them look like a basket. In this way they are protected from strong winds. Other agricultural products in which Santorini has specialized are: fava, a similar vegetable but smaller than a pea; a type of cherry tomato that only grows in Santorini and the "Kapari", a pea-sized vegetable used in the famous Greek salad.
